Rural Landscapes

Several years ago I pledged that I would go 12 months without painting a single straight line, hoping to take a welcomed break from urban and industrial subjects.  This self-imposed year of discovery sparked an impassioned love affair with the irregular, and sometimes surprisingly regular forms of the natural world.  I have come to understand the “architecture” of the forest, fields, lakes and seas in much the same way I understand architecture of a city street.  A believer in “intelligent design”, I celebrate the genius of the nature as I portray it in oil.
